New home for Libertyville … Countryside FPD tanker
Grayslake Fire Protection District has recently acquired a Pierce Dash 1250-GPM, 2500-gallon tanker that previously served with the Libertyville Fire Department since 2010. The unit was originally purchased new by the Countryside Fire Protection District in 1988 and later transferred to Libertyville. Now, after years of service, it has found a new home in Grayslake, continuing its legacy of supporting emergency operations.
The tanker, which has seen decades of use, is a classic example of mid-20th-century fire apparatus design. It has been used in numerous calls, from structure fires to large-scale incidents, proving its reliability over the years. Below are some photos capturing the history and current state of the vehicle.
