Working fire in Harvey, 1-16-20

From the Chi-Town Fire Photos feed: We responded to a structure fire early Thursday morning (January 16, 2020) in Harvey, Illinois. The incident involved a two-story ordinary construction apartment building located at 168 East 155th Street. The fire appeared to be originating from the attic area. Multiple handlines were deployed, and the Posen Ladder Company made strategic cuts in the roof to ventilate smoke and heat. Conditions were particularly challenging due to high winds at the time, but the crews did an excellent job containing the spread of the flames. Attached are several images capturing different moments from the response. The first photo shows the intense fire breaching through the roof of the attic. The second image offers a slightly different angle, showcasing the scale of the blaze as it engulfed the upper levels. In the third picture, you can see the Rosenbauer Commander fire engine on scene, its lights illuminating the darkened neighborhood. Additional photos highlight the firefighters working under difficult conditions, with the fire apparatus positioned strategically around the building. There's also an image showing one of the fire engines connected to a hydrant, ensuring a steady water supply for the operation. Overall, it was a demanding situation that required quick thinking and coordination among the responding units. The collaborative effort managed to keep the fire contained primarily to the affected building, preventing further spread in the residential area. Kudos to everyone who played a part in bringing this incident under control. [All photos courtesy of Chi-Town Fire Photos]
