Joe Gibbs Racing is one of the most respected names in NASCAR, and with some key changes this off-season, they're positioned to challenge the top teams like Hendrick Motorsports. While Joey Logano has moved on, the team has brought in veteran Matt Kenseth, who brings a wealth of experience and a 2003 Sprint Cup championship to the fold. Kyle Busch remains a cornerstone of the team, having recently signed a long-term contract extension. Denny Hamlin, too, is looking to bounce back from a tough 2012 season. With strong leadership and a solid lineup, JGR is ready to make a strong push in 2013.

 

Michael Waltrip Racing

Drivers: Clint Bowyer (No. 15), Mark Martin (No. 55), Martin Truex Jr. (No. 56), Michael Waltrip (No. 55)

Coming off a successful 2012 season, Michael Waltrip Racing is looking to build on its momentum. The team made it to the Chase with two cars and picked up three wins, proving that they can compete at the highest level. For 2013, the driver lineup remains unchanged, which is a big plus for continuity. With Scott Miller as Director of Competition, MWR is well-positioned to take full advantage of the new sixth-generation NASCAR cars. Fans are expecting a strong performance from this team this season.

 

JTG-Daugherty Racing

Owner: Tad and Jodi Geschickter, Brad Daugherty

Drivers: Bobby Labonte (No. 47)

JTG-Daugherty Racing faces an uphill battle against larger, more established teams like Hendrick and Joe Gibbs Racing. However, they have a major asset in 2000 Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte, who brings both talent and experience to the team. Another significant change is that JTG-Daugherty will no longer operate out of the Michael Waltrip Racing facility. Whether this move will help or hinder the team remains to be seen, but with Labonte behind the wheel, there's reason to be optimistic about their 2013 campaign.
