So here’s what happened, according to Engine Company 89's report. They were dealing with several garbage cans that had been set ablaze in an alley near 4327 N. Keystone. It seemed like someone had started the fire deliberately. While they were handling that situation, Engine 89 received another call about more garbage cans on fire further down the street, reported by the main fire alarm system.
When they arrived at the new location, things escalated quickly. Engine 89 requested a working fire response because two alley garages were already burning, and the flames had spread to a nearby two-story home. The situation was clearly getting out of control, with multiple structures involved in the blaze.
