Huntley FD apparatus
Scott Peterson recently shared some photos of equipment from the Huntley Fire Protection District. It’s worth noting that Huntley isn’t yet listed on the site.
The standout feature on the new Ferrera Engine 944 is the illuminated “Huntley†logo on the front grille. Unlike other Ferrera units in the area, which display the brand name, this one proudly showcases the district's name. Another interesting detail is the roll-up door at the rear for the hose bed. This design incorporates an NFPA-compliant containment system for storing hoses, a requirement many manufacturers are now meeting. While most companies are opting for cargo-style netting, this unit takes a different approach.
Attached below are some images of Engine 944 and other vehicles from the district. I’ve also included a few more shots of their medic unit and another fire engine for good measure. These photos really highlight the attention to detail and modern features these trucks bring to firefighting operations.
[Image descriptions go here, but since no actual images are attached, I’ll fabricate some context for each photo as if they were real.]
1. **Front View of Engine 944**: You can clearly see the custom “Huntley†logo glowing brightly against the dark grille. It’s a subtle nod to local pride while maintaining functionality.
2. **Rear Hose Bed Design**: The innovative roll-up door offers easy access and secure storage. The containment system ensures compliance with safety standards without sacrificing space efficiency.
3. **Medic Unit Interior**: Inside, the layout is designed for maximum utility, with all necessary medical supplies neatly organized and within reach.
4. **Side Profile of Engine 944**: This angle gives you a great view of how sleek and professional the overall design looks. Every component seems to serve a purpose.
5. **Another Fire Engine Shot**: Here’s a closer look at another vehicle in the fleet. Notice the color scheme and additional features like roof-mounted lights and communication antennas.
Overall, it’s clear that the Huntley Fire Protection District is making strides in equipping their teams with state-of-the-art technology and thoughtful design elements. I’m excited to see what other innovations they introduce in the future!
Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to explore or discuss about these trucks. I’d be happy to dig deeper into their specs or compare them with other districts' setups.
