Public Company Information: NASDAQ:ADSK SAN FRANCISCO & NEW YORK – (BUSINESS WIRE) – The New Jersey Meadowlands, home to MetLife Stadium and the historic Super Bowl XLVIII, has always been known for its unpredictable winter winds. Now, Autodesk and FOX Sports are joining forces to bring a new level of insight to fans by visualizing how these winds might affect gameplay in real time. This groundbreaking technology, called FOX WEATHER TRAX, offers viewers an unprecedented look at the dynamic airflow inside the stadium during the game. FOX Sports turned to Autodesk, a global leader in design and engineering software, to help illustrate the potential challenges players could face due to the unique weather conditions in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Using Autodesk’s advanced simulation tools, the team calculated wind patterns inside MetLife Stadium and will overlay real-time wind direction visuals onto the live broadcast. Before this collaboration, fans and commentators relied on field goal flags to guess how wind affected passes and kicks—leaving many confused about missed opportunities. Now, with this innovation, the mystery is gone. "Wind is an invisible but powerful force that can directly impact the outcome of a game," said Zac Fields, Vice President of Graphics & Technology at FOX Sports. "Given the history of strong winds in the Meadowlands and the significance of the event, we needed a way to clearly show how the wind affects play. This tool gives our audience a real-time view of what's happening on the field—something they've never seen before." Autodesk’s simulation technology has long been used by architects, engineers, and designers to test ideas and predict outcomes. It allows users to analyze how structures, products, or environments behave under different conditions—all without needing to build anything physical. This same technology is now being used to enhance the Super Bowl experience, offering fans a deeper understanding of the game environment. "When FOX Sports wanted to elevate the Super Bowl experience, Autodesk was ready to step up," said Buzz Kross, Senior Vice President at Autodesk. "Our simulation tools help people make better decisions, whether it's testing how a phone works in extreme weather or analyzing airflow in a stadium. This project shows how powerful digital modeling can be when applied to real-world scenarios." How It Works For the first time ever, fans watching from home will get a behind-the-scenes look at the wind and air movement inside MetLife Stadium.
