Working fire in Harvey, 1-16-20
Thursday morning (January 16, 2020), we responded to a fire call in Harvey, Illinois. The incident took place in a two-story ordinary apartment building located at 168 East 155th Street. From what we could tell, the fire seemed to have originated in the attic area. Our team quickly deployed a couple of hose lines to combat the flames while Posen Truck assisted by cutting strategic holes in the roof to ventilate smoke and heat.
The weather conditions were quite challenging, as it was extremely windy that day. Despite these adverse circumstances, our firefighters did an incredible job containing the fire and minimizing damage. Their quick response and coordinated efforts ensured that the situation didn’t escalate further.
Attached are some photos capturing the intensity of the fire as it raged through the roof of the attic. You can also see the impressive Rosenbauer Commander fire engine on site, working tirelessly alongside other emergency vehicles. In one image, you'll notice a fire engine connected to a hydrant, highlighting the crucial role water supply plays during such incidents. Another photo shows the aftermath, with crews still on the scene ensuring everything is under control.
Harvey has seen its fair share of challenges, but moments like these remind us of the resilience and dedication of our local fire departments. Special thanks to Chi-Town Fire Photos for sharing these vivid images that truly capture the bravery and professionalism exhibited by everyone involved. Stay safe, Harvey!
