The country's largest civilian laser successfully applied in Laigang's large H-beam production line

The GS-TFL-6000 CO2 laser, currently the largest civilian laser in China, has been successfully installed on Laigang's large H-beam production line. Following a period of trial operation, the system has delivered excellent results. The service life of saw blades and rolls that have undergone laser surface strengthening has increased by more than 1.5 times, significantly reducing maintenance costs and downtime. Laser processing technology is one of the key scientific and technological achievements in China since the "Sixth Five-Year Plan." It has become widely applied in various industrial fields such as cutting, welding, punching, cladding, scoring, and surface enhancement. The high-power cross-flow CO2 laser with a capacity of 6 kW (typically around 3 kW) introduced by the H-beam production line is primarily used for heat treatment of saw blade teeth and surface texturing and strengthening of rolls. After undergoing laser surface treatment, both saw blades and rolls demonstrate greatly improved wear resistance, resulting in fewer repairs and longer operational lifespans. To date, the laser equipment has successfully processed nearly 300 saw blades and four blanking machine rolls, with consistently good results. This advanced technology not only enhances product quality but also improves overall production efficiency, marking a significant step forward in China’s manufacturing capabilities.
