The country's largest civilian laser successfully applied in Laigang's large H-beam production line
The GS-TFL-6000 COâ‚‚ laser, currently the largest civilian laser in China, has been successfully installed on Laigang's large H-beam production line. Following a period of trial operations, it has delivered excellent results. The service life of saw blades and rolls that have undergone laser surface strengthening has increased by more than 1.5 times, significantly reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
Laser processing technology is one of the key scientific and technological achievements in China since the "Sixth Five-Year Plan." It has become widely applied in various industries for cutting, welding, punching, cladding, scoring, and surface enhancement of different materials. The 6 kW (typically around 3 kW) high-power cross-flow COâ‚‚ laser introduced into the H-beam production line is primarily used for heat treatment of saw blade teeth and for texturing and surface hardening of rolls.
After undergoing laser surface treatment, both the saw blades and rolls show improved wear resistance, leading to fewer repairs and longer operational life. To date, the laser system has processed nearly 300 saw blades and four sets of blanking machine rolls, with consistently good results. This advanced technology not only enhances product quality but also improves overall production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. As a result, the integration of this laser system marks a significant step forward in the modernization of Laigang’s manufacturing processes.
