The ISO series of isolation amplifiers is a hybrid integrated circuit (IC) designed to isolate and proportionally convert analog signals. These devices are categorized into active (with auxiliary power) and passive types. Passive isolation amplifiers feature internal current signal modulation and demodulation circuits, as well as signal coupling and isolation conversion circuits. With a low input equivalent resistance, they can handle an ultra-wide input voltage range—typically 7.5V to 32V—eliminating the need for an external power supply. This allows for long-distance signal transmission without distortion. The use of ceramic substrates, printed resistors, and advanced isolation techniques ensures compliance with 3kVAC insulation voltage requirements, along with industrial-grade performance in extreme temperature, humidity, and vibration environments. The ISO 4-20mA series is particularly user-friendly, offering functions such as 4-20mA loop isolation, single-input dual-output, or dual-input dual-output signal conversion—all without requiring external components. Active isolation amplifiers integrate a highly isolated DC/DC power supply and a high-performance linear optocoupler on a single chip. In addition to powering the internal amplifier, these ICs can provide two sets of isolated positive and negative DC power supplies and two 5VDC reference sources to external circuits. This makes them ideal for applications like bridge circuits, small-signal preamplifiers, and other custom designs. With a wide signal bandwidth of up to 20kHz, they can isolate, condition, and convert both bidirectional DC signals (0~±10VDC) and AC signals (0~5VAC). Their compact size and minimal external component requirement make them perfect for various analog signal isolation and conversion tasks, including I/I, I/V, V/I, and V/V configurations. Key application areas include analog data acquisition, isolated signal transmission, power supply isolation, industrial signal conditioning, ground loop suppression, remote signal transmission without distortion, and sensor signal isolation.
