Haz mat incident in Boone County, 11-12-22

"Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some details about an incident that happened near me. There was an anhydrous ammonia leak from two storage tanks on a farm located at the intersection of Garden Prairie and Marengo Road. Boone County Fire District 2 was on the scene pretty quickly, and they’re handling it as a hazmat situation. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on, especially since this area is close to residential zones.
Here’s what I managed to capture with my camera. The images should give you an idea of how serious this situation is. Please note that these photos were taken by me—Tim Olk—and they’re being shared for informational purposes only."

Below are some additional photos I took from different angles. As you can see, the hazmat team is taking all necessary precautions, and there seems to be no immediate danger to the public. However, they’re still monitoring the situation closely.
These next few shots provide a closer look at the tanks involved in the leak. You’ll notice the specialized equipment being used by the firefighters.
And finally, here’s another angle showing the extent of the area affected. While it’s concerning, the response effort appears well-coordinated. If anything changes or if there’s any new information, I’ll make sure to update everyone as soon as possible.
