Chicago 3-11 Alarm, 7-31-14
Thursday night brought an intense fire alarm to the area of 2525 W. 25th Street in Chicago, and I managed to catch some of the action through this video shared by Larry Shapiro. The blaze quickly turned into a full-scale emergency, with firefighters working tirelessly to control the situation.
In the thick of the chaos, my friend Drew Gresik sent over some stunning photos that captured the scale of the disaster. According to him, the fire erupted in a large 30×100-foot commercial building marked with a red X, engulfing not only the structure but also the adjacent pallet yard, where several trucks were caught in the inferno.

The sheer scale of the destruction is hard to fathom unless you’ve seen it firsthand. It's moments like these that remind me of how resilient our first responders are, battling against the odds to protect lives and property. As someone who’s been following the aftermath, I can’t help but feel grateful for the dedication of everyone involved in bringing this crisis under control.
