Lockport 2-11 11/1/10

The Lockport Township Fire Protection District activated a second alarm MABAS box today in response to a structure fire at a shopping center on Theodore Street near Plainfield Road. The blaze was reported in the end unit of the center, which is currently undergoing renovations. This location previously housed an Eagle Super Market.

Local firefighters from the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District were on scene, and Lieutenant Jim Skrabel, who was nearby, captured several photos from the incident. His images provide a clear view of the ongoing firefighting efforts and the challenges faced by crews responding to the fire.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the shopping center. While no injuries have been reported, the situation remains under control. Local residents are advised to stay alert and avoid the area until the fire is fully extinguished and the site is declared safe.
