Tianjin Binhai New Area Chemicals and other major projects are developing strongly

Since the second half of this year, the Tianjin Binhai New Area has taken a proactive approach, focusing on the "three ones" strategy to intensify efforts, enhance service quality, and make every effort to attract and advance major chemical projects. This initiative reflects the area's strong commitment to driving industrial growth and economic development. In July alone, the Binhai New Area achieved a fixed asset investment of 10.915 billion yuan, marking a 44.1% year-on-year increase. This growth was 3.8 percentage points higher than the first half of the year, signaling a significant acceleration in economic momentum and providing a solid foundation for sustained development. Major chemical projects are now progressing rapidly. The steel structure of the Tianjin Soda Plant’s steel mill is being erected, while the installation of boilers for the No. 1-4 thermal power plant is underway. Civil works for various sections of the Alkali Project are proceeding steadily, and the rebar welding at the total drop station project has been completed this year, with an investment of 1.31 billion yuan. Other key projects, such as the Bluestar Chemical New Material Base, ZTE Northern R&D Transformation Base, China Yizhong Coastal Manufacturing Base, Lizhong Wheels, Beijiang Power Plant, Daguhua 500,000-ton styrene plant, and 400,000-ton ABS resin project, are all advancing on schedule, with critical milestones being met ahead of time. A total of 95 projects are expected to be completed and put into operation one after another. Among them, the second phase of the Jinhu Tire Project in the West Zone of the Tianjin Development Zone is currently undergoing equipment installation, with an anticipated completion by October. Once operational, it will have an annual production capacity of 13 million radial tires. Meanwhile, the basic construction of Asia’s largest Xinquan desalination project has been finalized, with several facilities already completed. Equipment sourced from both domestic and international suppliers is gradually entering the site. Several other chemical-related projects, including the Jinyao Bioengineering Industrialization Base and Air Liquide Industrial Gas, are also expected to be completed and launched within the year. According to additional reports, the Binhai New Area plans to launch a series of new industrial projects in the second half of the year, including the reform of Novozymes No. 2 insulin, automobile parts manufacturing, wind power equipment production by Mingyang in Guangdong, thin-film solar cell production, and the Neusoft Software Park. These developments are set to further boost the region's industrial capacity, with annual investments in industrial projects expected to exceed 100 billion yuan.
