Chicago working fire 9-3-13

Here's a message from Josh Boyajian:

Today, I witnessed a fire at 727 W Lake Street (Mellos Peanut Co). Battalion Chief 3 arrived on scene to find a two-story building with smoke coming from the rear. Engine 42 pulled down the alley to make a forward attack. Truck 19 was in sector 3 and extended the ladder to the roof. Engine 42 quickly knocked down the fire, only to discover that it was a batch of peanuts burning inside a large container.

It was an unusual call—nothing more than a container full of peanuts catching fire, but still something worth documenting. The firefighters handled it quickly and efficiently, showing their usual professionalism. It’s always interesting to see how different situations unfold, even if they’re not what you expect. These moments remind us that every incident is unique, and sometimes the most unexpected things can lead to the most memorable stories.
